Various shapes of machined parts need different types of taper centers with different load powers and center tips. Thus, taper centers are classified with many types: light duty live centers, medium-duty live centers /turning centers, heavy duty live lathe centers, dead taper centers, bull-nose taper center…etc. They are commonly used for machining rod parts and bushing parts on general lathes.

The inner construction is different for different types to fullfill the machining load task. For example, the live taper centers have different types of roller bearings with two or three-point support rigid structure design. And they are waterproof, easy to dissipate heat. You can choose different types to suit for high speed or moderate cutting.
