Ball-Bearing Guide Post Sets Application


The guide pillar is used in combination with other components in the mold to ensure that the mold moves with accurate position and route. It is usually cylindrical with shoulder and oil groove. Usual material is SUJ2, hot die steel, easy rolling iron, etc. It is capable of preventing wear and damage of the mould and makes the maintenance easier because it can be installed and removed from plate.


The roundness of the guide pillar is very essential. In order to grind the outer diameter, cylindrical grinder machine has to use the tape center against the center hole of it so that the guide pillar can rotate.


According to the usage, guide pillars are for car mold, independent use, die frame, unload plate, etc.


Usually the inner cylindrical surface is ø32H7, Ra0.2um; the outer cylindrical surface ø45R6, Ra0.4um. 


  • Applied to automobile molds, mold frames, stamping die, die casting mold, plastic mold.

  • As for the guiding direction, there are sliding guide pillar (code SGP), sliding-rolling guide pillar (code SRP) options.

Usage

For   stamping die frame to guide direction, belonging to load-unload guide pillar. It's assembled by the flange part.

For   large stamping die frame to guide direction and improve the performance of   the safety and preparation work.

  • GCr15 domestic standard, corresponding to European standard 100Cr6, American standard 52100, Japanese standard steel SUJ2, HRC58-62. Excellent wear resistance performance.

  • Surface carburizing and quenching treatment optional. The depth of carburizing layer is 0.8-1.2mm, and the quenching hardness is 58-62HRC after carburizing.

The main surface treatment methods of die accessories are: electroplating, spraying, polishing, anodizing, blackening, etc.

The function is to improve the appearance, the corrosion resistance and wear resistance of the mold parts. Each has its own unique use environment and condition as below:


  • Steel Material Electroplating

Electroplating-Electroplating is a method of treating the surface of precision mold components with a layer of metal film. Different metals, such as chromium, zinc, or nickel, are used as coatings in different utility environments.

Usage: It is used for parts with low dimensional accuracy requirements. Because the thickness uniformity of electroplating is not easy to control, the accessary processing is required to ensure the accuracy when the dimensional accuracy is high.


  • Steel Material Spraying

Spraying refers to the treatment method of spraying a layer of coating on the surface of precision mold parts.

Usage: It can be used as the final surface treatment for parts requiring high dimensional precision and high wear resistance.


  • Steel Material Polishing

Polishing refers to treat the surface into a smooth, flat, burr free state.

Usage: To improve the appearance, the micro roughness and wear resistance of the mold and die parts.


  • Common Steel Blackening

Blackening refers to the method of treating the surface of the mold parts into a layer of black oxide film.

Usage: Ordinary steel as a kind of mold parts material, if it’s performance needs and corrosion resistance requirements are not high, blackening treatment can be cost saving.


  • Aluminum Anodizing

Anodizing- Anodizing refers to treat the surface of die parts into a layer of oxide film.

Usage: Because of its low hardness, usually used as an auxiliary mold accessories.
